冬型の気圧配置の中で海上と樹林限界以上で西寄りの風がやや強い。標高1000m西側で雪庇ふきだまりがゆっくりと発達、雪は少しずつ増えている。風が弱くゲレンデの圧雪状態は良いがコース外の笹藪は埋まっていない。ゲレンデ脇の障害物に注意。花園山頂以外の観測器の設置が遅れておりデータが少ないが、海上保安庁、気象庁各データの推移と現況観察から全体の雪崩リスクは低い。
ニセコでは今シーズンからコース外でのヘルメット、ビーコンの着用を強く強く推奨している。雪崩死亡者の4割は頭部外傷によるものであり、ヘルメットの着用を強く勧める。ビーコンは埋没時の捜索を早め、自分だけでなく仲間の命を救う確率を高める。装着を奨める。雪崩事故の多くは秒速25m/s以上の風雪の中、風下側のふきだまり斜面を刺激することで起こっている。事故に遭わないため降雪推移に注意。吹雪の日は用心したほうが良い。良いシーズンを。

We are currently in a typical winter weather pattern with strong westerly winds above the tree line. Around 1000m cornices and snow drifts are slowly developing on the west side. Snow depth is increasing little by little. Groomer conditions are good although off the runs bamboo and bushes are not buried yet. Be careful of obstacles off the side of the runs. Currently on site data is limited as only the Hanazono peak weather station is operating. However from observation and the coastal data avalanche risk is low.
Use of helmets and beacons are strongly recommended when riding out of the resort areas in Niseko this winter. 40% of avalanche deaths involve head injury, it is strongly recommended to wear a helmet. Beacons decrease search times when buried, they can save your life and your riding buddy's life. Wearing beacons is strongly recommended. Many avalanche accidents occur in bad weather with winds above 25m/s by stimulating avalanches on leeward snowdrift slopes. To avoid accidents pay attention to snowfall and wind, and always be cautious in bad weather. Have a good season.
